Wisdom tooth extraction is the removal of the wisdom teeth (the third set of molars located at the back of your mouth). Wisdom teeth usually come out between the ages of 17 and 25. Some people have them extracted while others don’t. The reason is that there are a lot of factors to consider whether you need to have them removed or not.
You need to get your wisdom teeth extracted if:

- Areas around your wisdom teeth are inflamed or swelling
- You are incapable of cleaning them because they haven’t fully come in yet
- Wisdom teeth are hidden under the gums
- Causes damage to the surrounding teeth
- They cause sinus pain, pressure, and congestion
You don’t necessarily need to have your wisdom teeth extracted if:
- No signs of inflammation around the area
